Ganter Constructions Unveils Plans for 45 New Housing Lots NOW

UPDATE: Ganter Constructions has just announced ambitious plans to develop 45 new low-density residential lots in a fast-growing suburb, marking a significant expansion of the Mistful Park subdivision. This development comes as the local economy surges, driven by the recent opening of the On the Run (OTR) service station at the bustling intersection of Crookwell and Marys Mount Roads.

The OTR, which opened its doors on December 19, 2025, is already seeing a high volume of customers, tapping into the demand from both residents and passing trade. Ganter employee Phil Toparis noted, “Everyone is happy with it,” highlighting the essential role the new facility plays in meeting the needs of the growing community.

This commercial development is set against the backdrop of a broader housing strategy, with the Goulburn Mulwaree Council recently endorsing a planning proposal to rezone 5.6 hectares of land from environmental living to low-density residential. This means the minimum lot sizes will shrink from 10 hectares to 700 square meters, paving the way for the new housing lots.

Mr. Toparis explained that the planning proposal had been lodged prior to the council’s 2020 Urban and Fringe Housing Strategy yet had faced delays due to bureaucratic hurdles. However, with the recent council endorsement, the next steps involve awaiting state government approval, which could take up to a year.

This development is crucial for accommodating the area’s anticipated growth, as the Urban and Fringe Housing Strategy projects 2,500 homes for the Marys Mount region. The new residential lots will be located at 408 Crookwell Road, directly north of Drinkwater Drive, and will feature internal streets for access, enhancing community connectivity.

In addition to housing, Ganter is advancing its commercial portfolio, with an IGA supermarket and a Horizon Medical Centre nearing completion. The supermarket, which includes a Cellarbrations liquor section, is expected to open soon, following months of fit-out work that commenced in July 2025. A pharmacy is also in the pipeline, pending the acquisition of necessary licenses.

Despite the excitement surrounding these developments, Mr. Toparis expressed frustration that the council approval process has lagged, arguing that the commercial offerings should have been greenlit years ago rather than “back planned.”

The rapid expansion of housing and commercial facilities is a testament to the suburb’s growing demand for services and living space. Recent council meetings have also endorsed additional planning proposals for residential lots, including a potential 256 residential lot project near Crookwell Road and Chinamans Lane.

As Ganter Constructions continues to push forward, the community anticipates the positive impact these developments will have, providing new homes and essential services in a thriving area. Mr. Toparis concluded, “We’ll have wider streets and bigger blocks because we want to create a nice area.”

Stay tuned for further updates on these unfolding developments that promise to reshape the landscape of the Marys Mount suburb.
