UPDATE: The newly restored Goulburn Brewery officially opened its doors on August 13, 2023, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Diners and drinkers have flocked to the venue, excited to experience its fresh offerings after an extensive four-year restoration.
Initial preview evenings on August 5, 6, and 7 were fully booked, showcasing the community’s eagerness to reconnect with this historic brewery. Local residents like John McEvoy and Bron King expressed their enthusiasm, with Bron stating, “This is exactly what Goulburn needs.” John added, “It’s beautiful and stunning.”
Featuring a vibrant atmosphere, the brewery has become a popular spot for families and friends. Nearby, Cr Dan Strickland and his wife Jules enjoyed the affordable and tasty menu, while Dan reminisced about his childhood visits, saying, “To come back here now is something special and different. I hope Goulburn supports it.”
The brewery also emphasizes its family-friendly environment, as Warwick Baker, dining with his family, remarked, “It’s showing off its heritage. The vibe and decorations are lovely.”
Staff at the Goulburn Brewery are all local, with head brewer Neal Cameron highlighting plans for expansion as the brewery develops further. “We expect employee numbers to grow as more parts of the brewery open,” he said.
Exciting developments are on the horizon, with plans to launch a function/events area by October and a shop selling beer and merchandise. The brewery has the capacity to produce 150,000 litres of beer annually, positioning it as a key player in the local beverage scene.
