Gunfire Erupts Again Outside Prahran’s Love Machine Nightclub

UPDATE: Shots were fired outside the notorious Love Machine nightclub in Prahran early this morning, marking yet another alarming incident at the infamous venue. Police responded at 2:25 AM on Sunday after reports of a violent altercation involving multiple individuals outside the club, prompting an urgent investigation by the Armed Crime Squad.

According to authorities, a firearm was discharged during the chaotic scene before the suspects fled the area. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. However, this incident is part of a disturbing trend, as it marks the third violent episode in just as many weekends, raising significant safety concerns in the community.

The Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang has been linked to previous violence at Love Machine. Though police have not confirmed their involvement in this latest incident, officers were seen removing CCTV footage from the premises on Sunday morning, indicating a thorough investigation is underway.

Earlier this month, a brawl involving gang members, including former national sergeant-at-arms Tarek Zahed, left three men hospitalized with serious facial injuries. Just a week later, another altercation erupted, resulting in a 32-year-old man requiring treatment from paramedics. A 28-year-old man from Narre Warren was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including possessing a controlled weapon.

The Love Machine nightclub has a notorious history of violence, with one of the most tragic events occurring in April 2023. Ruka Carlson, a 30-year-old father, was fatally stabbed on Chapel Street after reportedly being pursued from the club following a gun-related altercation. The venue first gained infamy in 2019 when a drive-by shooting claimed the lives of security guard Aaron Khalid Osmani and patron Richard Arow, leaving several others injured.

In a bid to address mounting public safety concerns, Love Machine’s management announced on social media they would be closed last Saturday night, citing “unexpected plumbing issues.” However, many locals remain skeptical, given the spate of violence surrounding the club.

What happens next? Authorities continue to investigate the incident, with an increasing focus on the ongoing gang-related violence in the area. Residents and patrons are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity as police work to restore safety to the neighborhood.

As this story develops, stay tuned for updates on the investigation and the implications for community safety in Prahran.
