ISCA Launches Commemorative Book Series at 10th Anniversary Dinner

BREAKING: The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) has just announced a major milestone, celebrating the 10th anniversary of its charity arm, ISCA Cares, at its Annual Dinner held on August 19, 2025, in Singapore. In a significant reveal, Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, launched the commemorative book series titled “Making it Count.”

This book series highlights the inspiring life stories and reflections of eight Distinguished Lifetime Members who have made profound contributions to the accountancy profession and public service. The aim is to motivate younger generations to consider a career in accountancy, showcasing how it can be both meaningful and impactful.

During the event, ISCA recognized exemplary leaders in the profession, conferring the coveted Distinguished Lifetime Membership on Dr. Ernest Kan, former President of ISCA. Dr. Kan expressed his gratitude, stating,

“I am honoured to receive the ISCA Distinguished Lifetime Membership. The profession has given me so much, and it has been a privilege to contribute to its reform agenda.”

He emphasized his confidence in the future of the accountancy profession in Singapore.

Additionally, Max Loh, outgoing Chairman of ISCA Cares, received the ISCA Special Appreciation Award for his significant contributions to the sector. Loh remarked,

“Purpose, Passion, Perseverance and Positivity are what is required to continually uplift the accountancy profession.”

He officially passed the Chairmanship to Professor Ang Hak Seng during the dinner, marking a new chapter for ISCA Cares.

This anniversary event underscores the growth of ISCA Cares as a vital component of Singapore’s accountancy landscape. The organization, established in 1963, now boasts over 40,000 members and has a presence in more than 40 countries. ISCA continues to advocate for the profession, providing support and resources for its members globally.

The launch of the book series and the recognition of outstanding members serve to highlight the importance of mentorship and community involvement within the accountancy profession. As ISCA Cares moves into its next decade, the commitment to inspire future generations remains stronger than ever.
