URGENT UPDATE: Darren Bewick will conclude his tenure as head coach of the Greenvale Jets at the end of the Essendon District Football League premier division season. Jets president Bruce Kent announced this significant change earlier today, confirming that Bewick will not continue in his role for the next season.

In a heartfelt statement, Kent expressed gratitude for Bewick’s remarkable contributions to the club, stating, “We would like to sincerely thank Darren for his outstanding contribution, support, and loyalty to the club.” He highlighted Bewick’s character and integrity, emphasizing the pride the Jets take in having him lead their senior group.

Darren Bewick joined the Jets during a tumultuous period post-COVID, a time when the club faced unprecedented challenges. Kent noted that Bewick’s leadership, resilience, and commitment to rebuilding the football program have been pivotal in advancing the club’s future. Under Bewick’s guidance, the senior team achieved its first finals appearance in six years, a milestone that showcases his coaching prowess.

Despite his departure, Bewick will remain at the helm for the remainder of the season. Kent reaffirmed the club’s commitment to finishing the year strong under his leadership. Currently, the Jets are positioned in ninth place with four wins this season. This week, they are set to face Keilor, a crucial match that could impact their standing as the season nears its conclusion.
