Kaniva Show 2025: Huge Success Celebrated by Community!

UPDATE: The 2025 Kaniva Show wrapped up as a resounding success on October 15, 2025, bringing together families and friends in a vibrant celebration. The excitement kicked off with Kim Dodson and her dog Banjo officially opening the event, captivating the audience with an impressive working dog demonstration.

The crowd buzzed with energy as the Kaniva Playgroup showcased Pedal Tractors and hosted the thrilling performance “Wozza and the Animals of Magic Mountain,” filled with singing, dancing, and adventure. The community spirit shone bright, with attendees of all ages expressing joy and camaraderie throughout the day.

In a highlight of the event, Ella Wallis was crowned the Junior Show Ambassador, marking a proud moment for her and her family. Competitive categories saw young participants shine, including William for the 6-9 boys, Lara Gladdis for the U3 girls, and many more taking home awards in various age groups.

Kaye Bothe, Secretary of the Kaniva A and P Society, expressed heartfelt gratitude: “Thank you to everyone who entered, attended, volunteered, and supported the show in any way. Your smiles and laughter are what make this event special.” She emphasized the importance of community connection, stating, “The Kaniva Show is all about community, connection, and celebration—and this year truly showed that.”

In a special recognition, Kerryn Golder won the Amy Pilgrim memorial in the horse events, adding to the day’s achievements. The atmosphere was electric as the day concluded with the band “Austins” entertaining the crowd, building excitement for the fireworks display that capped off the evening.

The success of the Kaniva Show is attributed to the tireless efforts of volunteers and sponsors, who dedicate months of planning to ensure a memorable experience for all. Bothe highlighted the dedication of stewards, gatekeepers, and exhibitors, noting, “The show would be nothing without you.”

As the fireworks lit up the night sky, the true spirit of the Kaniva community was palpable, with families coming together to celebrate their shared passions and achievements.
