UPDATE: Kristian Doolittle delivered a stunning performance, leading the Perth Wildcats to an impressive 88-75 victory over the New Zealand Breakers during a thrilling NBL showdown at RAC Arena on Saturday night. Doolittle’s explosive final quarter transformed the game, securing the Wildcats’ crucial win as they improved their home record to 2-3 this season.

The Wildcats faced a challenging start to the final quarter, trailing by two points after conceding four turnovers in just two minutes. Tension filled the arena as fans held their breath. But in a dramatic shift, Doolittle dominated the court, scoring an incredible 15 points within the quarter alone, finishing with a season-high 24 points and 14 rebounds for the game.

Doolittle’s pivotal run included three three-pointers, accounting for 13 of Perth’s total 15 points during a crucial stretch. Coach John Rillie praised Doolittle’s performance, noting, “I was happy to see him take some transition threes. They’re loud threes. They’re difference makers in close games.” Rillie emphasized the importance of Doolittle’s versatility, stating, “How he can influence the game, impact the game and win us a game can look different.”

The Wildcats entered the night with a shaky 1-3 record at home, making this victory essential for their confidence. Along with Doolittle, David Okwera added 13 points and seven rebounds, while teammates Elijah Pepper and David Duke Jr. contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Despite the loss, Breakers coach Petteri Koponen acknowledged his team’s struggles, stating, “Before the match, physicality was a big topic against Perth. They just bullied us in the offensive rebounds.” The Wildcats dominated the boards with a staggering 59-42 rebounding advantage, including 22 offensive rebounds compared to the Breakers’ six free throws to Perth’s 26.

As the Wildcats celebrate this significant win, all eyes are now on how Doolittle’s performance will influence the team’s upcoming games. With newfound momentum, the Wildcats aim to build on this success as they look to solidify their position in the league. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story!
