Light Plane Crashes on Sydney Golf Course, Two Men Injured

BREAKING: A light plane has crashed at Mona Vale Golf Course in Sydney‘s Northern Beaches, injuring two men in their 50s. The incident occurred at approximately 2 PM today when the Piper Cherokee was forced to make an emergency landing after leaving Camden around 1 PM and intending to land in Wollongong.

Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as the aircraft came down onto the golf course, with golfers looking on in shock. Footage obtained by local media showed debris scattered across the green as bystanders rushed to the scene. One golfer could be heard exclaiming in disbelief as the plane hit the ground.

Authorities confirmed that both men, a pilot instructor and a student, sustained minor injuries. They were promptly treated by a team of three paramedics and one inspector at the crash site before being transported to Royal North Shore Hospital in stable condition, according to a spokesperson from NSW Ambulance.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has been notified and is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident has raised immediate safety concerns, with officials urging a thorough examination of the aircraft’s condition and the pilots’ actions leading up to the emergency landing.
