Meri Pehchan Pakistan Celebrates 10 Years on Independence Day

URGENT UPDATE: Meri Pehchan Pakistan Inc (MPP) celebrated its 10th annual event in honor of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day on Saturday, August 16, 2023, in Sydney, bringing together community members and dignitaries for a vibrant celebration of culture and unity.

This year’s milestone event was graced by the esteemed presence of Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Qamar Zaman, Australian Senator David Shoebridge, Member of Parliament Nathan Hagarty, and Deputy Mayor of Liverpool Peter Harley. The gathering highlighted a decade of MPP’s contributions to the Pakistani community in Australia.

The event featured a series of engaging activities, including a Quiz Competition, Speech Competition, and a Character Parade, showcasing children’s knowledge of Pakistan’s history and national icons. In a new addition, the Star Spotlight Segment provided a platform for young talent to shine, while the 5th Pakistani Youth Talent Awards recognized exceptional achievements in various fields, including Academics and Sports.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, MPP supported the Education Cause of Shahid Afridi Foundation Australia, aiming to provide educational access for underprivileged children in Pakistan.

“We are deeply grateful to our community, sponsors, and volunteers who have been the backbone of Meri Pehchan Pakistan’s journey over the last 10 years,” stated the MPP President. “Together, we are not only celebrating our heritage but also empowering the next generation.”

Long Standing Supporter Awards were presented to key supporters and sponsors, recognizing their invaluable contributions over the past decade. This celebration marked not just an event, but a reaffirmation of community spirit and dedication to future generations.

As the festivities concluded, MPP expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, turning the event into a resounding success.
