Mount Gambier Library Unveils Exciting Activities for July Holidays

Throughout July 2024, the Mount Gambier Library and the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre will collaborate to offer a range of engaging activities aimed at local families and children. These initiatives are designed to promote reading, creativity, and community involvement during the school holidays.

The activities will include storytelling sessions, arts and crafts workshops, and interactive learning experiences tailored for various age groups. The library aims to foster a love for literature and the arts among children, providing a safe and stimulating environment for exploration and growth.

Interactive Workshops and Storytelling Sessions

Families can look forward to a diverse lineup of events. The storytelling sessions will feature local authors and skilled narrators, bringing tales to life and encouraging young listeners to develop their imaginations. Additionally, hands-on workshops will allow children to create their own art projects, guided by experienced instructors from the Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre.

Staff from both institutions emphasize the importance of these activities in building community bonds. Jane Doe, the Library Manager, stated, “Our goal is to provide enriching experiences that not only entertain but also educate our young visitors. We want to inspire the next generation of readers and creators.”

Community Engagement and Support

The initiative reflects a commitment to community engagement, with various local organizations contributing to the program’s success. Participants can expect to see collaborations with schools and local businesses, enhancing the overall experience for families in the region.

Events will be held throughout the month, with specific dates and times available on the Mount Gambier Library’s website. Families are encouraged to register early, as some workshops may have limited spaces. By participating in these activities, children can enjoy a fun-filled holiday while also developing essential skills.

Overall, the July program at the Mount Gambier Library and Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre promises to be a highlight of the school holidays, providing a platform for creativity, learning, and community connection.
