Neuron Offers A$100,000 Rewards for Helmet Safety Awareness Week

URGEN UPDATE: Neuron Mobility has just launched a stunning A$100,000 prize pool to promote Helmet Safety Awareness Week, running from September 22 to 28. This initiative emphasizes the critical importance of wearing helmets while e-scooting, underscoring the company’s commitment to safer streets.

As part of this year’s campaign, Neuron invites riders to take a simple pledge: wear a helmet, snap a selfie, and ride responsibly. With a generous pool of free rides and rewards, this campaign aims to motivate users to prioritize safety. The initiative is not just a marketing strategy; it’s a vital reminder that helmet usage significantly reduces the risk of head injuries in the event of accidents.

According to global statistics, head and neck injuries account for the majority of serious e-scooter incidents, making this awareness week remarkably timely. In Australia, wearing a helmet is mandatory, and the fines for non-compliance can be steep, ranging from A$50 in Western Australia to A$423 in New South Wales.

How to Participate:

  • Pledge for Free Passes: Riders can enter the promo code HELMETPLEDGE to receive a complimentary Plus Pass, which unlocks free e-scooter rides for 30 days and a 20% discount on all trips.
  • Earn Rewards: Snap an in-app selfie while wearing a helmet to earn up to A$0.50 off every subsequent ride.
  • Win Big: Riders can enter a draw for a A$500 voucher for dining or a getaway by taking a helmet selfie, signing the pledge, or completing a safety briefing.

Neuron’s commitment to safety does not stop at incentives. The company has implemented strict regulations, including warnings and bans for repeat offenders of helmet laws. Additionally, a A$50 fee applies for failing to return a helmet. Each Neuron scooter comes equipped with a built-in helmet, which can be released using the company’s innovative app-controlled system.

Safety Ambassadors will be on the streets this week, engaging with riders and promoting helmet safety. They will provide rewards, share safety tips, and encourage participation in the online ScootSafe Academy, which features quizzes, videos, and games designed to make safe riding fun.

“It’s fantastic to be celebrating our fifth year of Helmet Safety Awareness Week. More than 99.99% of all Neuron trips end safely and without incident. However, in the unlikely event of a serious accident, helmets are the single most effective way for riders to protect themselves, so we’re rewarding everyone who takes the pledge this year,” said Jayden Bryant, General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Neuron Mobility.
