UPDATE: Nine individuals have been arrested and two teenagers charged in a shocking car theft incident that unfolded in Wyndham Vale early on July 17, 2023. Authorities report that the suspects allegedly carried out an aggravated burglary at a residence on Bullion Drive between 9 PM on July 16 and 6 AM on July 17.
According to police, the alleged offenders gained entry into the home and stole keys to a white Volkswagen Tiguan parked in the driveway. The stolen vehicle was tracked to an address on Woolspinner Crescent around 8:35 AM on July 17, prompting an immediate police response.
Officers arriving at the scene witnessed five males exiting the vehicle and heading towards a residence on Shorthorn Way. Following this, the police apprehended nine males in total: two were found in the driveway, while seven were located inside the house.
The two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, have since been formally charged with theft of a motor vehicle. Additionally, an 18-year-old man from Wyndham Vale has been released pending further inquiries, while two other 16-year-old boys and two 17-year-old boys remain under investigation and are assisting police.
