UPDATE: In a stunning display of talent, Omnia clinched victory in the $20,000 Aldebaran Park 2YO Trotters Southern Cross Final at Globe Derby Park on December 21, 2025. Driven by Michael Smith and trained by Tyson Linke, the filly led from start to finish, securing a win by two metres over Helpisfaraway.
This immediate triumph is a significant payoff for owner Tara-Shae Linke, who made a bold decision to breed her mare Consica with the American stallion Volstead. Despite being an unproven sire at the time, Volstead’s lineage has now proven fruitful, with his stud fee rising from $3,000 to $16,500.
Omnia’s win marks the first of a remarkable double for the Linke family from Kadina, as later in the evening, Tara-Shae’s Coco Mia also triumphed in the $9,999 Cobbitty Equine Farm 4YO & Older Mares Southern Cross Final. Driven by Wayne Hill, Coco Mia’s victory further showcased the family’s prowess in harness racing.
Trainer Tyson Linke expressed his surprise at the filly’s performance, noting their tight preparation schedule. “I felt we were about a week or two behind her rivals,” Linke stated. “She was a bit fat when she had her first run, and her fitness has steadily improved.” Omnia’s ability to take the lead was a first in her racing career, contributing to her flawless execution on the track.
Looking ahead, most of Omnia’s competitors are expected to return to Globe Derby Park this Saturday for the $9,999 2025 Parker Classic, adding further excitement to the upcoming racing calendar.
This victory not only highlights the Linke family’s dedication and strategic breeding choices but also underscores the unpredictable nature of harness racing, where unexpected decisions can lead to extraordinary outcomes. The racing community eagerly anticipates what lies ahead for these remarkable horses.
As the news of Omnia’s success spreads, fans and followers are encouraged to stay tuned for more updates and to support the athletes at their next races.
