UPDATE: Police have swiftly arrested three teenagers following a dramatic overnight carjacking incident in Hampton Park. At approximately 12:55 AM, three suspects allegedly armed with a knife threatened the occupants of a red Hyundai Kona on Blackwood Drive, demanding the keys from the male driver.
The terrifying encounter left the victims—a 76-year-old man and two women aged 51 and 77—unharmed, but shaken. After seizing the vehicle, the suspects fled the scene, prompting a police pursuit that tracked the stolen Hyundai to the Dandenong area before it was abandoned on Heatherton Road.
In a swift response, authorities pursued the suspects as they transferred to a red Nissan Dualis. The chase escalated through multiple suburbs along the Monash Freeway and concluded on Princes Highway, Pakenham, where police apprehended the three suspects, aged 17, 16, and 13, all from the Casey area.
Each suspect faces multiple charges. The 16-year-old male has been charged with serious offenses including Theft of Motor Vehicle and Dangerous Driving Whilst Pursued by Police. The 13-year-old girl also faces charges including Theft of Motor Vehicle and Fraudulently Using a Registration Plate. Meanwhile, the 17-year-old male was charged with similar offenses.
