Rare Classic Car Auction Set for August 31 in Lancefield

URGENT UPDATE: A rare collection of classic cars, including a prized 1947 Mercury, is set to go under the hammer in an online auction on August 31, 2025. This collection, originally belonging to local enthusiast Danny Davis, features multiple classic vehicles discovered in a deceased estate in Lancefield.

The auction showcases several exceptional finds, including a 1965 Ford F100 and a 1967 Falcon sport coupe. After Davis’s passing, the collection is now in the hands of his brother, Phil Davis, who recalls the sentimental value of the Mercury. “The reason Danny bought that car was that type of car, exact colour and everything is the very first car I remember our dad having when we were kids,” he stated. This emotional connection adds a compelling story behind the auction.

The Mercury, a right-hand-drive vehicle, is reported to be in excellent condition and remains operational. Phil Davis emphasizes the significance of the collection, noting that it includes a variety of models catering to Kustom Kulture enthusiasts. “There’s a number of 1951 twin spinner Fords, two utes, a four-door sedan, and a two-door coupe,” he added.

In addition to the cars, the auction also features spare parts and workshop equipment, ensuring that potential buyers can maintain the vehicles in prime condition. This presents a unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

An inspection of the collection will take place on August 29, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in Lancefield, allowing interested bidders a chance to view these classic cars firsthand. The auction will be hosted online, making it accessible to bidders from around the world.
