RDFL Melton Centrals Signs William Krithararis for 2026 Season

UPDATE: RDFL Melton Centrals has secured a major signing for the 2026 season with the addition of player William Krithararis. This move was just announced on social media, highlighting the club’s commitment to enhancing its lineup ahead of the upcoming season.

Krithararis, who has showcased his skills at the VFL level and served as vice-captain of Deer Park in 2025, is expected to bring invaluable experience and leadership to the Centrals. The club noted, “His leadership, strength, fitness, and football smarts will be a massive addition to our squad as we continue to build momentum into the new season.”

In a related development, former junior Lucas Borg is making a return to Melton Centrals after a stint at Gisborne, further bolstering the team’s roster.

Meanwhile, BFL Melton has confirmed a significant return as well: two-time premiership player Riley Walker will rejoin the squad for the next Ballarat Football League season. After taking time off from football, Walker’s return is seen as a pivotal moment for the Bloods. The club stated, “Riley brings not only elite talent, leadership, and experience but also a deep family connection to our club that makes this homecoming extra special.” His passion and dedication are expected to energize the team as they prepare for the season ahead.

Additionally, the Bloods announced an impressive 15 re-signings this week, indicating strong continuity as they gear up for the new season.

In the realm of bowls, Diggers Rest achieved a dominant victory in the Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region Highlands pennant division 1 on Saturday, defeating Lancefield 73 (16)-54 (0). Rink leader Kylie Stafford shone brightly, securing a significant 29-19 win for her team. Diggers Rest currently stands in fifth place after three rounds, showcasing their competitive spirit.

In division 3, Mt Cottrell triumphed over Trentham 2 with a score of 78 (16)-44 (0), driven by rink victories from Jeffrey Langley and Des Roache, who secured wins of 16 and 17 points, respectively.

Finally, RDFL Diggers Rest has announced the re-signings of four key players—Jaidyn Caruana, Shaun Campbell, Ryan Mullen, and Campbell Wearne—for the upcoming 2026 season, cementing their strategy for a competitive edge in the Riddell District Football League.

As these teams make strategic moves, fans are eagerly anticipating the impact of these signings and re-signings, underscoring the excitement in the lead-up to the new season.
