UPDATE: Residents flock to the Golden Square pool today for a festive New Year’s Eve celebration. The lively pool party, which kicked off earlier in the afternoon, will continue until 8 PM as families and young people gather to enjoy the warm weather and festivities on December 31, 2025.
As the evening approaches, excitement builds across the city with fireworks displays planned at 9:15 PM and midnight. Residents are encouraged to head to nearby Rosalind Park and Queen Elizabeth Park to secure a good viewing spot. For those unable to attend in person, the earlier fireworks show will be streamed live on the City of Greater Bendigo’s YouTube channel, ensuring everyone can participate in the celebration.
In preparation for the events, the QEO car park will be closed from 6 AM on December 31 to 6 AM on January 1 to facilitate a safe setup for the fireworks. Authorities emphasize that this closure is essential for crowd safety as thousands gather to ring in the New Year.
Residents are reminded that the Golden Square pool party offers a perfect opportunity to kick off 2026 in a vibrant community atmosphere. As the clock ticks down, many families are making lasting memories, enjoying the music, games, and camaraderie at the pool.
As the celebrations unfold, officials and local organizers encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly and enjoy the festivities. Stay tuned for further updates as the night progresses and the New Year arrives.
