Star Sprinters Shine at Belmont Trials, Setting Stage for Stakes

Snowdome wins the 2025 Cyril Flower Stakes for jockey Brad Parnham

UPDATE: Excitement surged at the Belmont trials today as sprinter Snowdome and speedster Rope Them In showcased their talents, setting the stage for upcoming stakes races. In a thrilling display, Snowdome conquered his heat, defeating high-profile competitors with a decisive performance.

In heat six, Snowdome raced aggressively over 850 meters, quickly joining forces with Do I Feel Lucky before pulling ahead with 250 meters to go. The six-year-old gelding, trained by Neville Parnham, finished strong, winning by three-quarters of a length, while stablemate and 2023 Railway Stakes champion Bustler took third. This impressive showing positions Snowdome favorably for the Winterbottom Stakes on November 29, where TABtouch lists him as a $51 shot.

In another highlight, five-time winner All Play dominated heat seven, seizing the lead early and holding off challenges to win by a long head. His impressive start allowed him to maintain a length advantage over Zipaway, who attempted to close the gap but fell short. The performance of Talkanco and Super Smink, who both showed remarkable speed late in the race, added to the excitement, finishing just half a length behind All Play.

The standout moment of the day came from unraced four-year-old Wrexham, trained by Dion Luciani. In his first competitive outing, Wrexham demonstrated his potential, overcoming initial struggles to dominate the 1000-meter trial. Starting last, he made a remarkable recovery, displaying a stunning turn of foot to win by nearly five lengths. This impressive performance, coupled with his unique grey coat inherited from his mother and grandmother, has turned heads among racing enthusiasts.

In heat eight, Rope Them In electrified the crowd with a powerful finish, narrowly winning by a neck. After a brilliant start, he strategically positioned himself behind the front-runners before unleashing his acceleration, leaving Bruce Almighty trailing. His effortless surge to the front underscores his potential as a top contender in future races.

With these exhilarating performances, anticipation grows for the upcoming racing season. Fans are eager to see how these talented horses will fare in their next challenges. As trainers and owners assess their options, the Belmont trials have undoubtedly set a thrilling tone for what lies ahead in the racing calendar.

Stay tuned for more updates as these star sprinters prepare to make their mark on the track!
