Three Teens Killed in Late-Night Crash in Mackay, Queensland

URGENT UPDATE: Three teenagers tragically lost their lives in a devastating car crash in Mackay, Queensland, late Saturday night. Police confirm the fatal collision occurred around 10:30 PM on the Mackay Ring Road in the suburb of Glenella.

Initial reports indicate that the group was traveling in a sedan that collided head-on with another vehicle. A girl and two teenage boys died at the scene, prompting an outpouring of grief online. One relative expressed her heartbreak, stating, “Absolutely devastated. A phone call I didn’t want to get. My heart aches for you my cousin.”

The crash involved three vehicles in total, leaving one man hospitalized with minor leg injuries, according to a police spokesperson. Authorities are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward as their investigation continues.

This tragic event adds to the growing concern over road safety in Queensland, where at least 151 people have died in road incidents in 2025. The community is left grappling with the loss as families mourn the young lives taken too soon.
