BREAKING: Myer has just announced that the iconic UK clothing brand Topshop will make its triumphant return to Australian shoppers starting in February 2026. This follows nearly six years since the last standalone Topshop store in Australia closed its doors.
The relaunch will see Topshop’s popular jeans and apparel stocked exclusively across all 56 Myer stores and on the retailer’s online platform. This strategic move aims to attract younger consumers, according to Myer’s Chief Merchandise Officer, Belinda Slifkas.
“We are thrilled to welcome one of the most iconic and globally celebrated brands to Myer,” Slifkas stated. “The London look is popular right across Australia from Perth to Bondi.”
Topshop’s return is part of Myer’s ongoing efforts to refresh its womenswear offerings with globally relevant and fashion-forward labels. The brand has recently added other popular names like JAG, Sportscraft, and Lioness to its lineup.
The reintroduction of Topshop comes after its parent company, Arcadia Group, collapsed in 2020. The brand was acquired by ASOS in 2021 and is now owned by a joint venture with Bestseller A/S. This relaunch aligns with Topshop’s recent expansions in the UK, France, Ireland, and Denmark.
Topshop brand director Henrik Matthiesen expressed the significance of this milestone, stating, “Working with Myer allows us to bring our renewed vision to the Australian market with energy and relevance.”
As Topshop returns to the Australian market, it seeks to reconnect with consumers who have missed its trendy offerings since the last store closed in Sydney in March 2020. Analysts previously suggested that Topshop struggled to differentiate itself from competitors and arrived late to the Australian market.
