UPDATE: Two men have been charged following a shocking hammer assault on a man in Cranbourne earlier today, February 6, 2023. The incident occurred around 10:00 AM outside a residence on Wallace Road, leaving the victim with minor injuries.
According to authorities, the 51-year-old victim was involved in a physical altercation with two attackers. He was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police apprehended both suspects in the vicinity of the crime scene, where they were also transported to the hospital under police guard for observation.
The first suspect, a 51-year-old man from Frankston, faces serious charges including intentionally causing serious injury, assault with a weapon, and committing an indictable offence while on bail. He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, February 7.
The second suspect, a 34-year-old Cranbourne man, has been charged with intentionally causing injury. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on April 29
