BREAKING: Two people have tragically died in a devastating crash involving an alleged stolen vehicle in Sydney. Police were alerted at 10:20 AM today to reports of a vehicle theft at a service station on King Georges Road, South Hurstville, where a 25-year-old man was assaulted and his red sedan stolen.
Authorities quickly located the stolen vehicle traveling on King Georges Road, Beverly Hills. When it failed to stop for police, a high-speed pursuit was initiated, with assistance from Polair and multiple police commands. The chase continued along the M5 Motorway but was terminated in the Bankstown area. However, Polair continued tracking the sedan until it crashed into an Alfa Romeo on the Old Hume Highway in Camden South at approximately 11:10 AM.
The horrific collision resulted in the deaths of the two occupants inside the Alfa Romeo. Their identities have not yet been confirmed. Meanwhile, the driver of the stolen sedan, a 31-year-old man, fled the scene on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter. He has been taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing and will be transferred to Campbelltown Police Station for further inquiries.
