Two Women Killed on Hume Freeway While Aiding Injured Animal

UPDATE: Two women have tragically died after being struck by a vehicle on the Hume Freeway in Craigieburn, Melbourne. Reports confirm the incident occurred around 7:30 PM as the women attempted to assist an injured animal on the road.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following multiple calls about the collision. The yet-to-be-identified women were quickly transported to a local hospital but sadly succumbed to their injuries.

Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to officials, it is believed that the women exited their vehicle to help an injured animal when they were struck by an oncoming car. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
