Urgent Arrest Made After Sydney Shooting Leaves One Injured

UPDATE: A 60-year-old man has been arrested following a dramatic shooting incident in Sydney’s inner west that resulted in multiple vehicles being damaged and one individual hospitalized with a gunshot wound. This urgent situation unfolded in Croydon Park on Sunday night, prompting police to initiate a significant operation, closing streets and placing the area under lockdown.

Authorities confirmed that the man was apprehended around 9:30 PM at a unit above a business on Georges River Road, where the shots were reportedly fired. Police seized firearms during the arrest, underscoring the seriousness of the situation. The suspect was subsequently taken to the hospital under police guard for injuries sustained during the apprehension.

At the scene, paramedics treated 16 individuals for minor injuries, while several cars, including a police vehicle, suffered damage from the gunfire. In a critical development, a man arrived at Canterbury Hospital with a gunshot wound and was later transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in serious condition. Two additional individuals were also taken to the hospital after receiving treatment from paramedics. Fortunately, police reported that no officers were injured during the incident.

As the investigation continues, officials urge anyone with information to come forward. The community is left reeling from this shocking event, highlighting ongoing concerns about public safety in urban areas.
