Urgent Call for Help Before Alleged Murder of Tatiana Dokhotaru

UPDATE: In a chilling 89-second call for help, Tatiana Dokhotaru, 34, alerted emergency services moments before her alleged murder. The desperate call was played in court as the NSW Supreme Court trial began against her former partner, 28-year-old Danny Zayat, who is accused of killing her on May 26, 2023, in her Liverpool apartment.

During the call, Dokhotaru reportedly told operators, “My ex-boyfriend is here and he’s trying to kill me.” The call precedes the harrowing events where prosecutors allege Zayat not only assaulted her but also stole her money and discarded her phone off the balcony, which has never been recovered.

Crown Prosecutor Alex Morris revealed that CCTV footage is expected to show Zayat discarding the phone and leaving the building with cash taken from Dokhotaru’s unit. The tragic incident unfolded between 10:35 PM and 11:40 PM, where Zayat is accused of inflicting fatal injuries on Dokhotaru, either by striking her or causing her to fall.

Morris emphasized the brutality of the alleged crime, stating it was committed “with an intention either to kill or inflict really serious bodily injury.” The court learned that Dokhotaru was a business owner, selling luxury goods on Instagram and operating a tanning solarium, while Zayat ran a concreting business.

Their relationship reportedly turned tumultuous by May 2021, with Zayat exhibiting patterns of physical violence and verbal abuse. This case highlights the urgent need for awareness surrounding domestic violence, as the details continue to unfold in court.

As the trial progresses, the jury will hear more evidence, including testimonies and potential eyewitness accounts. The public is urged to stay informed as this case develops, revealing the shocking realities of domestic abuse.

This story not only reflects a tragic event but also serves as a critical reminder of the importance of seeking help and the dangers many face in abusive relationships. Share this urgent news to raise awareness about the ongoing discussions surrounding domestic violence.
