Urgent: Dog Attack Injures Three Before Ambushing Teen in Home

UPDATE: A shocking dog attack has left three individuals injured in Raymond Terrace, New South Wales, after a large dog ambushed a teenage boy inside his home. Emergency services rushed to Scott Close shortly before 11 PM on December 29, 2023, responding to urgent reports of a “large dog on the loose attacking people.”

Authorities from Port Stephens-Hunter police arrived to find a Staffordshire Bull Terrier-Mastiff cross had bitten a 36-year-old woman, a 35-year-old man, and a 14-year-old boy. The attack began when the couple was walking down the street, and the dog subsequently entered a nearby house, targeting the teenager.

All three victims received immediate medical attention from paramedics at the scene before being transported to John Hunter Hospital. Fortunately, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but the incident has raised serious concerns about public safety.

In a swift response, police were forced to euthanize the dog at the scene. They are now collaborating with local council rangers to identify the dog’s owner as inquiries continue.
