UPDATE: A 34-year-old man has been arrested in Crookwell, NSW, after allegedly driving “erratically” with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) nearly four times the legal limit. This alarming incident occurred around 4:30 PM on January 16, 2023, prompting an immediate response from police.
Witnesses reported the man’s dangerous driving behavior on Roberts Street, leading officers from the Hume Police District to conduct a roadside breath test. The results confirmed their suspicions, with the man returning a staggering BAC of 0.199.
Authorities quickly discovered that the driver was disqualified from operating a vehicle until March 2028. He was arrested and taken to Goulburn Police Station, where he faced multiple charges, including driving with a high-range PCA and driving during a disqualification period. In addition, he was charged with destroying or damaging property in an unrelated incident.
The man was refused bail and appeared before a bail court on Saturday, January 17. The magistrate denied his bail request, and he is set to appear again in Goulburn Local Court on January 22, 2023.
