Urgent Manhunt: Four Masked Thugs Terrorize Perth Homes

BMW - Ocean Reef - Burglary and Stolen Motor Vehicle Series - Butler and Ocean Reef - Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad are urgently seeking public assistance to locate two stolen motor vehicles, following a series of burglaries that occurred in Butler and Ocean Reef this morning, Wednesday, 24 September 2025.

UPDATE: A desperate manhunt is underway for four masked thugs following a series of shocking home invasions in Perth’s north. The brazen attacks, which left a woman injured, occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, and police are urging the community to remain vigilant.

The terrifying spree began at approximately 4:30 AM on Sohan Way in Butler, where two suspects, armed with machetes and wearing dark clothing, broke into a home and stole car keys. They then fled in a stolen white Toyota Corolla, registered 1HOK709. Just ten minutes later, they used the vehicle to ram a garage door at a nearby residence on Millom Street, where they verbally threatened a female occupant but did not gain entry.

The chaos escalated around 5:50 AM when three men attempted to break into another home on Jutland Rise, Ocean Reef. Shortly thereafter, four men, one armed with a machete, invaded a property on Tarolinta Gardens. During this incident, the thugs assaulted a female occupant, striking her with the handle of the machete and leaving her with a laceration. She was rushed to a local hospital but has since been discharged.

Detective Constable Ciara Lydiate of the Rapid Apprehension Squad emphasized the severity of these crimes, stating they are “very serious” and “distressing.” She described the attacks as “completely random” and underscored the importance of community awareness.

“Violence of this nature is unacceptable, and people being threatened in the safety of their home is something that will not be tolerated,” Det. Const. Lydiate said. She called on residents of Ocean Reef and Butler to stay alert, reminding them to keep their doors locked and report any suspicious activity.

Both the stolen Toyota Corolla and a blue BMW 4 Series coupe, registered 1FBM178, remain at large. Local authorities are actively seeking information from the public to aid in the capture of the suspects.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 131 444. As the investigation continues, the community is urged to prioritize their safety and remain watchful.

This alarming series of events has left residents shaken, highlighting the urgent need for safety measures and community vigilance. Stay tuned for further updates as this situation develops.
