Urgent Police Operation at Russian Consulate in Sydney: Man Arrested

BREAKING: A major police operation is currently unfolding at the Russian Consulate in Sydney following a dramatic incident this morning. A 39-year-old man has been arrested after he drove a white SUV through the consulate’s gates in Woollahra.

Authorities report that at approximately 8am on Monday, officers responded to calls about a suspicious vehicle parked in the consulate’s driveway on Fullerton Street. When police attempted to engage with the driver, he accelerated through the gates and onto the consulate grounds.

During this urgent response, a 24-year-old police officer suffered a hand injury. Initial reports from NSW Ambulance indicate he sustained a cut, though the exact circumstances surrounding his injury remain unclear.

The arrested man has been taken into custody at the Surry Hills Police Station, where authorities are continuing their investigation. Police are currently assessing the situation and have not ruled out further developments.

This incident has raised significant concerns, given the high-profile nature of diplomatic facilities. Officials are urging the public to remain calm and stay away from the area as investigations continue.

Witnesses describe the scene as chaotic, with police quickly surrounding the consulate following the breach. Local residents are advised to stay updated via official channels as more information becomes available.
