UPDATE: A serious crash in Woogenellup, in the Great Southern region, has prompted the urgent dispatch of an RAC rescue helicopter to assist a teenage girl who is trapped in her vehicle. Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Knight Road, east of Mount Barker, at 12:04 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
According to a spokesperson from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the vehicle left the road and collided with a tree at “high velocity.” The impact of the crash has left the teenage driver trapped inside her car.
Four emergency response crews from Albany and Mt Barker fire and rescue services are currently on the scene, working diligently to extricate the girl and provide necessary medical assistance.
