Urgent: Semi-Truck Crash Closes I-25 in Northglenn, Multiple Injuries

UPDATE: Northbound lanes of Interstate 25 are currently closed at 120th Avenue following a serious crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. Multiple individuals have been transported to the hospital, with the extent of their injuries still unknown. This incident, reported by Northglenn Police, is under active investigation, and authorities anticipate an extended closure of the highway.

Motorists traveling north through the area are being rerouted at 120th Avenue. The Colorado Division of Emergency Management has issued a warning, urging drivers to “leave early and give yourself extra time” due to hazardous conditions. Slick roads resulted from light snowfall across the Denver metro area, which began early this morning.

Around 4 a.m., a band of snow swept through the region, leading to rapidly deteriorating road conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that roads may not appear heavily snow-covered, but travel remains dangerous. Wind gusts are contributing to blowing snow and reduced visibility, exacerbating the situation for drivers.

As of 8 a.m. today, the city of Centennial is on accident alert. If involved in a minor crash, residents are advised to file an online report rather than contacting the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

The NWS has issued a Weather Impact Alert for this morning, emphasizing the potential for slick conditions throughout the area. While snowfall is expected to taper off as the sun rises, additional light accumulation is still possible.

Once the weekend passes, the forecast indicates clear but cold conditions, with daytime highs barely reaching freezing. With lingering snow on north-facing slopes, the risk of black ice remains a critical concern for drivers.
