Wyndhamvale’s Lewis Stanton Scores 100th Goal in Thrilling Match

UPDATE: Wyndhamvale’s Lewis Stanton has etched his name into the record books by scoring his 100th goal in the Western Football League during a thrilling match against West Footscray earlier today. Stanton needed just four goals going into the game to reach this remarkable milestone, becoming only the second player in two years to achieve this feat.

In a remarkable display of skill, Stanton kicked three goals before finally securing his 100th. Although he initially missed a shot for the milestone, he quickly redeemed himself, delighting teammates and fans alike. “It’s a bit crazy,” Stanton remarked after the game. “It’s still not settled in.”

Today’s match was particularly special, with Stanton’s father flying in from Perth to witness the historic moment. “I was pretty happy about that,” Stanton said, expressing his joy at his father’s surprise visit. “Before the start of the game I was going to warm up when he came over. Luckily everything went right.”

Stanton finished the match with an incredible seven goals, bringing his season total to 103 goals. This marks Stanton’s first season with the Wyndhamvale Falcons, after transferring from Yarraville Seddon. “With my footy coming towards the end, I wanted to play at a good football club and it just felt like a good club to be at,” he explained.

The Falcons not only celebrated Stanton’s achievement but also secured a victory that locks them in the top spot for finals. “It has been really good, and the reserves are on top as well,” Stanton added. “Everyone is getting around each other, and it’s enjoyable to be around each other.”

As news of Stanton’s milestone spreads, the football community is rallying together to celebrate this exceptional achievement. With the Falcons poised for a strong finish to the season, all eyes will be on Stanton and his teammates as they aim for glory in the finals.

The excitement surrounding Stanton’s accomplishment resonates beyond just the numbers; it represents dedication, hard work, and the support of his family and team. Fans and community members are encouraged to share their congratulations and support for Stanton as he continues his remarkable season.
