The Bayside Library is launching a Youth Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Program at Rockdale Library, providing an exciting opportunity for young enthusiasts to engage in the popular tabletop role-playing game. This program invites participants of all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned players, to come together for collaborative storytelling and adventure.
Sessions are scheduled to take place every fourth Saturday of the month, starting at 12:00 PM and concluding at 4:15 PM. Participants new to D&D are especially encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of each session. This early arrival will allow them to create and set up their characters with the guidance of experienced facilitators, ensuring a smooth introduction to the game.
Registration for the program is essential, as spaces may be limited. Interested individuals can find more information on the Bayside Council’s official website. The initiative aims not only to entertain but also to foster friendships and creativity among young people in the community.
According to the Bayside Council, the Youth Dungeons and Dragons Program is designed to cultivate skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and imagination, making it a valuable addition to local youth activities. Participants can look forward to immersive storytelling and a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and fun.
The program reflects a growing trend in community libraries to offer engaging and interactive activities for youth. By incorporating popular games like D&D, libraries are adapting to the interests of younger generations while promoting literacy and social interaction.
The first session is set to kick off on October 28, 2023, at Rockdale Library. Young adventurers are encouraged to gather their friends and prepare for an afternoon filled with creativity and exploration.
