In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, the 58-year-old chef expressed gratitude towards the healthcare professionals at The Skin Associates for their swift action in removing the cancerous growth.
In his post, Ramsay stated, “Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you.” He took the opportunity to remind his followers about the importance of sun protection, saying, “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend; I promise you it’s not a face lift. I’d need a refund.”

The charity Cancer Research UK also commented on Ramsay’s post, expressing relief over his recovery and thanking him for raising awareness about sun safety. Understanding Basal Cell Carcinoma
According to the NHS, basal cell carcinoma is a non-melanoma form of skin cancer that typically originates in the top layer of the skin. It is primarily caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, which can come from both sunlight and artificial sources like sunbeds. The main symptom of this condition is a growth or unusual patch on the skin, which can vary in size and appearance. It is most commonly found on areas of the body that receive significant sun exposure, including the head, neck, shoulders, back, hands, and lower legs.
