According to Hassanul Haseeb Khan, a spokesman for Rescue 1122, the situation upon arrival was critical. “When we arrived, the fire from the ground floor had spread to the upper floors, and almost the entire building was already engulfed in flames,” he stated. The rapid escalation of the fire prompted a large response from rescue teams, as hundreds of onlookers gathered outside, including distraught business owners who watched their livelihoods turn to ash.
In the aftermath of the incident, Dr. Summaiya Syed, a police surgeon, confirmed that six bodies had been transported to Karachi’s Civil Hospital. The injured individuals were receiving treatment, and authorities enacted mass disaster protocols in response to the scale of the tragedy.
