UPDATE: A brand-new fire truck has just arrived in Coraki, marking a significant boost for local emergency services. The NSW Labor government announced today that the latest fire engine from Fire and Rescue NSW is valued at approximately $560,000 and features a state-of-the-art Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS).
This advanced Class 2 Pumper allows firefighters to tackle various types of emergencies—including structural, chemical, petrol, and grass fires—using up to five times less water than traditional methods. The new Iveco fire truck is engineered to deliver superior “knock down” capability, thanks to its innovative foam concentrate mixed with compressed air, enhancing flame suppression while minimizing smoke output during blazes.
The vehicle is equipped with a modern Euro 6 cab chassis that incorporates the latest crash avoidance technologies and meets lower emission standards. This versatility makes it suitable for both urban and regional responses, enabling quick action during road crashes, flood emergencies, and fire outbreaks.
Residents of Coraki can now feel more secure with this upgraded firefighting asset. The delivery of this new fire truck underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that local fire services are equipped to handle emergencies effectively.
What’s Next: Community members are encouraged to attend an official unveiling ceremony scheduled for later this month, where local firefighters will demonstrate the truck’s capabilities. Stay tuned for more updates as Coraki enhances its firefighting resources.
This timely addition to Coraki’s emergency fleet represents a crucial investment in public safety, ensuring that first responders have the tools necessary to protect lives and property.
