Chris Hemsworth’s friend and drummer of Parkway Drive, Ben Gordon, has sold his stunning Byron Bay residence for approximately $10 million. The Mediterranean-inspired home, located at 20 Pacific Vista Drive, was acquired by Gordon in 2019 for $2.45 million. The sale, finalized last week through Will Phillips of Sotheby’s, highlights the escalating real estate prices in this coastal locale, known for its breathtaking ocean views.
Gordon, who has played to packed stadiums around the world with his metalcore band, discussed his friendship with Hemsworth in a promotional video for the upcoming show, Limitless. He revealed that he taught the actor to play the drums as part of a personal challenge for Hemsworth’s milestone birthday. The actor took to the stage in front of 70,000 fans during a concert in Romania last August alongside singer Ed Sheeran. Gordon expressed his admiration for Hemsworth, stating, “I have the utmost respect and admiration for him … he pulled it off but it was a journey to get there.”
The home boasts a unique design, featuring double-height ceilings, expansive glass walls, and an open-plan living area that emphasizes natural light and scenic views. The property includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a double garage, and a luxurious magnesium infinity pool. Additionally, it is nestled adjacent to Arakwal National Park, providing residents with easy access to nature trails and the beach, just a five-minute walk away.
In the vicinity of Gordon’s property, another residence recently sold for $10.5 million, which is currently being offered as a prize in the QLD RSL Art Union lottery. The winner will be announced at 10:00 AM on September 3.
As for Gordon’s future plans, details remain unclear regarding where he, his partner, and their young daughter will be relocating. The recent sale of their home marks a significant milestone not only for Gordon but also reflects the ongoing demand for luxury properties in Byron Bay.
