Char Restaurant is set to expand its presence in Middle Tennessee by opening a new location in Murfreesboro in 2027. The new restaurant will occupy a spacious 6,600-square-foot area within The Exchange development, located at 2305 Exchange Dr.. This information was reported by the Nashville Business Journal.
Founded in 2001 in Jackson, Mississippi, Char Restaurant currently operates four locations, including establishments in Memphis, Nashville, and Huntsville, Alabama. Earlier this year, its parent company, 4Top Hospitality, announced plans for another location in the mixed-use development named Canteen on Carothers in Franklin, expected to open in 2026.
Char Restaurant is known for its unique Southern-style modern steakhouse experience, offering an array of dishes that feature USDA Prime and Choice cuts of meat, alongside fresh seafood and home-style sides. The menu includes popular items such as prime rib, lamb chops, ribeye steak, and prime New York strip. Seafood options range from sea bass to BBQ shrimp and pan-seared Atlantic salmon. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch.
In addition to its culinary offerings, Char Restaurant features a vibrant piano bar with nightly live jazz music, enhancing the dining experience.
4Top Hospitality was established in 2009 and has since introduced various restaurant concepts throughout the Southeast. Other brands under its umbrella include the Italian restaurant Amerigo, Etch, Etc., and Jasper’s.
The Exchange development in Murfreesboro is currently under construction, aiming to provide both residential and commercial retail spaces, contributing to the community’s growth and development. As the new Char location prepares to open, it is anticipated to become a significant addition to the local dining landscape.
