Residents of Hometown can look forward to a new destination for sweet treats as Donut Dudes is set to open its third location this August at 4000 SW Highway. This expansion follows the success of its existing shops in Chicago and Chicago Ridge. Co-owner Khader Zahdan announced that preparations for the new space have been underway for nearly a year.
According to Zahdan, the team aims to launch the new outlet in mid-to-late August, strategically timed to coincide with the influx of visitors expected for Lollapalooza. This busy period presents an opportunity for the business to attract new customers. Zahdan, alongside his brother Mohammed “Moe” Zahdan, is also excited to introduce a drive-thru service, enhancing convenience for patrons.
Bringing New Concepts to Hometown
In a recent interview, Zahdan emphasized the importance of ensuring everything is perfect before the grand opening. “We want to make sure that we do it right,” he stated. The new location will serve not only the signature donuts but also a variety of other offerings. Among the anticipated menu items are s’more milkshakes, donut, egg, and cheese sandwiches, and even turkey donuts.
Donut Dudes has gained popularity with signature items such as strawberry crumble and vanilla sprinkle donuts. The business also caters and provides wholesale options for events and organizations. In addition, the new shop will feature a “build your own donut” station, allowing customers to select their preferred toppings.
Coffee Partnership Enhances Offerings
As part of its expansion, Donut Dudes will partner with a Florida-based coffee company to offer a selection of beverages, including matchas and lattes. This partnership aims to complement the sweet offerings and create a well-rounded experience for customers.
Khader and Moe Zahdan, both immigrants, were inspired to create their donut shop after fond memories of visiting a local late-night donut spot with their father. Although Khader pursued a career in medicine and Moe in law, the desire to operate a donut shop remained strong. Donut Dudes has since evolved into a beloved local establishment.
