New Restaurant Planned by Cantina Alley Team in Historic Folsom

The team behind Sacramento’s popular Cantina Alley is set to open a new restaurant in Historic Folsom. Restaurateurs Art Aguilar and Max Archuleta are transforming the space formerly occupied by Q’bole Cocina & Cantina, located at 718 Sutter St, Suite 201. This marks a significant expansion for the duo, who have made a name for themselves since launching Cantina Alley in 2017.

Aguilar and Archuleta gained recognition for their vibrant interpretations of Mexican street food, featuring dishes such as elote, carne asada tacos, and al pastor tortas, all served alongside an array of colorful cocktails. The atmosphere at Cantina Alley has attracted a loyal following, primarily due to its lively patio and engaging dining experience.

Details regarding the new venture remain limited. Archuleta confirmed plans for the new restaurant to What Now Sacramento but withheld extensive information, promising that further updates would be shared within a week. As anticipation builds, many in the community are eager to learn what culinary offerings will emerge from this new location.

The previous occupant, Q’bole Cocina & Cantina, closed its doors in early 2025 after a decade in business. The Sacramento Bee reported that owner Diana Calderon faced legal issues after withholding rent, which ultimately resulted in a breach of contract lawsuit against her. Q’bole was known for its Mazatlán-inspired cuisine, featuring dishes such as arrachera, enchilada mole, and chile relleno.

The transition from Q’bole to Aguilar and Archuleta’s new concept reflects a broader trend in Folsom, where dining options continue to evolve. As the community welcomes new flavors and experiences, the successful launch of the new restaurant could further enhance Folsom’s reputation as a vibrant culinary destination.

Stay tuned for future announcements as more information becomes available about this exciting new chapter for the Cantina Alley team in Folsom.
