Armie Hammer Reveals Controversial Past Involving Marijuana Use

Armie Hammer, the actor known for his role in “Call Me by Your Name,” has made headlines after revealing controversial anecdotes about his past drug use on his podcast, “The Armie HammerTime Podcast.” During a recent episode, the 38-year-old actor spoke about his enjoyment of using marijuana in social settings, specifically referencing instances where he would leave friends, including fellow Hollywood star Johnny Depp, in a state of extreme intoxication.

Hammer described his past behavior with a mix of amusement and regret, stating, “I loved poisoning people. I loved smoking marijuana with people to the point where they were like, ‘I’m so stoned, I can’t find my feet.'” He reminisced about a time when he got Depp “super stoned” before a promotional appearance for their 2013 film, “The Lone Ranger.” This incident reportedly led to the two actors being kept apart during the film’s press tour.

Recollections of a Wild Press Tour

Hammer’s co-host, Ashton Ramsey, recalled the repercussions of this event, noting, “The most trouble that you ever got into was when you basically got Johnny super-stoned before a press junket.” Hammer confirmed this, stating, “They never let me hang out with Johnny on the press tour after that. They would always keep us apart.”

The actor described how Disney provided him with a private jet for the press tour, while Depp received a larger and more luxurious plane equipped with amenities like a movie theatre. Hammer shared an anecdote about walking into Depp’s jet, where he was immediately enveloped in cigarette smoke. “I walked onto the plane, and it was like yellow air from everyone just sitting in there smoking,” he recalled.

Downfall and Rehabilitation

In 2021, Hammer’s life took a significant downturn. His marriage to Elizabeth Chambers, 42, ended, and his acting career faced severe challenges following multiple allegations of physical and sexual abuse, including disturbing claims related to cannibalistic fantasies. These accusations led Hammer to seek treatment for his drug, alcohol, and sex addiction issues.

While Hammer’s podcast offers a glimpse into his past, it also serves as a reminder of the complexities surrounding celebrity culture and the consequences of reckless behavior. As he reflects on his actions, Hammer’s journey highlights the importance of accountability and personal growth in the face of adversity.
