Cassie Henderson, aged 26, will represent her coach, Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm, while Bella Parnell, 21, will sing for Richard Marx’s team. In an emotional moment after their performances, Henderson shared her thoughts on the pressure of the evening. “I was really feeling the pressure,” she told 7NEWS. “But I just locked down and looked out into the crowd to see my family there for the first time in the competition — it was so amazing.” She emphasized feeling both the weight and support of her teammates, acknowledging everyone who had shared the stage with her throughout the competition.
Chisholm praised Henderson as a “superstar” following her remarkable rendition of Lorde’s “Green Light”. Meanwhile, Parnell earned her place in the finale with a breathtaking performance of Adele’s “Skyfall.” Marx expressed his satisfaction with her delivery, stating, “She absolutely accomplished everything I wanted from that performance.”
Reflecting on her experience, Parnell admitted she was initially surprised by the choice of song. “When I first got the song, I was a bit shocked — it’s such a big song,” she said. She highlighted the significance of having her mother with her during the mentoring process, making the night even more special.
Chisholm noted Parnell’s journey as “one of the most incredible” on the show, particularly as she had never performed in front of an audience before her blind audition. Parnell, who is currently a finance student, expressed her gratitude for Marx’s mentorship. “Richard kept telling me to just be present and not let the nerves take over but also accept the nerves as part of the performance,” she remarked. She described Marx as not only experienced but also “a lovely soul” who is genuine and down to earth.
