Chrissie Hynde Celebrates Oasis Live Tour with Johnny Marr

Chrissie Hynde, the frontwoman of The Pretenders, recently attended an exhilarating performance by British rock band Oasis at Wembley Stadium. The concert was part of their highly anticipated Live ’25 Tour, marking the band’s first series of shows in 16 years. Hynde was joined by her former bandmate Johnny Marr, and the pair enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere of the event alongside notable guests, including supermodel Kate Moss.

Hynde shared her experience on social media, expressing her enthusiasm for the concert. She described Oasis as “exactly what the world needs right now.” Her post highlighted the band’s impressive performance and the nostalgic energy that filled the stadium. “James and I went with @johnnymarrgram to see @oasis the other week. They were great as one would expect,” she wrote.

The concert featured support from acclaimed musician Richard Ashcroft, whom Hynde lauded for his vocal prowess. “Saw a bunch of old pals in the audience and was dancing with Kate Moss to support act, the excellent voiced @richardashcroftofficial,” she noted. Hynde also playfully remarked on Moss’s talent, suggesting that she missed her calling as a singer. “I always remind Kate that she missed her calling, and could’ve been a singer,” Hynde added, recalling Moss’s humorous response about her career choices.

Oasis, fronted by brothers Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, is known for their anthemic sound and cultural impact during the Britpop era. Their reunion for the Live ’25 Tour follows years of speculation about the band’s future, as the Gallaghers have often been at odds. Hynde expressed her admiration for the band’s straightforward rock approach, stating, “There is still nothing better than a rock band doing their thing with a minimal light show and no extra people cluttering the stage. In other words, a proper f****** rock band!”

The concert not only celebrated the music of Oasis but also served as a reminder of the powerful connection between artists and their fans. Hynde, now 73, continues to be a vibrant presence in the music scene, echoing the sentiments of many who believe that live rock performances hold a unique place in today’s entertainment landscape.

As Oasis continues their tour, fans eagerly anticipate the chance to relive the magic of the band’s classic hits, reaffirming the lasting legacy of one of Britain’s most iconic rock bands.
