Han and Can Share Challenges on The Block: ‘It Tested Us’

The couple from House 2 on *The Block*, Han and Can, recently opened up about the challenges they faced during the competition, indicating that the experience significantly impacted their relationship. During an intense moment captured in a recent episode, the pair were seen arguing over the order of painting and caulking their main bedroom and walk-in robe. Their disagreements highlighted the strain that the renovation show can place on couples, but both assert that it ultimately strengthened their bond.

Han, originally from West Australia, and Can, who met online just over a year ago, have endured a rocky start to the competition. Their journey included an unfinished room in the first week and Han’s hospitalisation in week three. Despite winning for their main ensuite last week, communication issues have emerged. In a tense exchange, Can expressed frustration with Han’s approach, asking, “Why are you talking to me like this?” Han responded, “Because you’re not listening to me,” illustrating the difficulties they encountered while working together.

Fans have taken to social media to comment on the couple’s communication style, with many questioning the status of their relationship since filming concluded earlier this year. Despite the scrutiny, Han and Can spoke to *Yahoo Lifestyle*, stating that their time on *The Block* has brought them closer rather than driving them apart. “The Block really tested us but also made us stronger, as individuals and as a couple,” they explained. “We learned how to back each other completely, step up when the other was running on empty, and still find ways to laugh when everything felt chaotic.”

Growth Through Adversity

The couple adopted a supportive motto during the competition: “I’ll be 90 per cent when you’re at 10 per cent.” They reflected on how the demanding conditions of filming felt like an accelerated experience of their relationship. “The 12 weeks honestly felt like 12 years, but in the best way. It gave us a deeper understanding of each other and accelerated our relationship in such a positive way,” they shared.

Han noted that while she had always dreamed of participating in *The Block*, she did not anticipate the emotional toll it would take. “We thought we knew what to expect: long days, cameras everywhere. But the reality was ten times more intense,” she revealed. “No days off, zero privacy, and the pressure of making huge decisions on the fly.”

Despite these challenges, Han emphasized the positive outcome, stating, “We came out stronger as a couple, and so proud of the home we built. The friendships, the growth, and the memories are things we’ll carry forever.”

Looking Ahead

As the competition progresses, viewers can anticipate the upcoming episode where teams will finalize their main bedrooms and walk-in robes. Judges will provide their feedback on the renovations, with Shaynna Blaze teasing that one of the rooms “sings, it’s celestial,” while fellow judge Marty Fox offered a blunt critique, stating simply, “I hate it.”

The ongoing journey of Han and Can serves as a reminder of the trials faced by couples in high-pressure situations, showcasing both the challenges and the growth that can arise from working closely together.
