The incident occurred on the evening of August 26, 2023, during an altercation between two teenagers at approximately 20:20 local time. The alleged attacker, also aged 15, reportedly used a knife during the confrontation.

Following the incident, emergency services were promptly dispatched. A spokesperson for the Northern Territory Police confirmed that both police officers and personnel from St John Ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after the attack. The victim was subsequently transported to the Royal Darwin Hospital for urgent medical treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

As the situation developed, the alleged offender fled the scene but was located by authorities later that evening. At around 22:00, the police announced via a social media update that they had arrested the suspect, who is now in custody.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with further information regarding the incident to reach out to police at 131 444 and reference case number P25199834.
