Victoria Police Launch Intensive Search for Fugitive Dezi Freeman

Victoria Police has initiated a focused five-day search in a remote part of Mount Buffalo National Park in northeastern Australia, aiming to locate fugitive Dezi Freeman. This operation comes as authorities intensify their efforts to apprehend Freeman, who has been evading capture for several weeks.

The search began on October 20, 2023, with police deploying specialized units and resources to comb through the rugged terrain of the national park. The area is known for its dense forest and steep cliffs, making the search particularly challenging. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of Freeman to assist in the ongoing operation.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Victoria Police emphasized the importance of community involvement. “We are asking anyone who may have information regarding Dezi Freeman’s whereabouts to come forward. Every detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial in our investigation,” they said.

Freeman is wanted in connection with several serious charges, and the police have expressed concern for public safety. With Freeman potentially on the run in such a vast and isolated environment, the urgency of the search has heightened.

The search operation utilizes a range of resources, including aerial surveillance and ground teams equipped with tracking technology. Local volunteers have also joined the effort, demonstrating community support in the face of the ongoing situation.

As the search progresses, police have set up a command center near the park entrance. This facility enables officers to coordinate their efforts effectively and manage incoming tips from the public.

Authorities are hopeful that this renewed search will yield results. As the investigation continues, updates will be provided to the public regarding any developments in the case of Dezi Freeman.
