Nissan Australia Awards New Patrol to Excited Mother-Son Duo

Nissan Australia has officially handed over the keys to a brand-new Nissan Patrol Ti-L to winner Beth and her son Travers, marking a thrilling conclusion to a competitive event involving nearly 1,000 entrants. The competition, which spanned several weeks, required participants to solve clues about the location of a hidden Patrol SUV and submit a video detailing their off-road experience.

The innovative contest, organized in partnership with CarExpert, invited entrants to pinpoint the vehicle’s location based on three clues. Each participant also submitted a video explaining their previous off-road driving experience and their enthusiasm for joining the hunt for Nissan’s renowned SUV. After a thorough selection process, judges chose five pairs of finalists to compete for the luxurious vehicle in the scenic Bendleby Ranges, located in South Australia.

As the competition unfolded, unexpected weather conditions posed challenges for the finalists. On the day of the event, the typically dry Flinders Ranges were drenched in rain, leading to one of the most significant rainfall events in years. In response, the Nissan team adapted the competition structure, creating three engaging challenges for the contestants.

The first task involved each pair navigating a challenging off-road loop in a Nissan Patrol, all while contending with muddy conditions. Participants were tasked with taking photographs of the hidden Patrol, which was camouflaged in the bush. Only one photo per pair would be submitted for judging, with points awarded based on accuracy.

Following the photography challenge, entrants faced a quiz that tested their knowledge of the Patrol and the surrounding Bendleby and Flinders Ranges. Points were awarded for each correct answer, adding to the competitive atmosphere.

The final challenge required contestants to locate a hidden key in an old shearing shed using metal detectors. With only five minutes to find the key, competitors had to work quickly and efficiently, with points awarded based on how rapidly they succeeded.

After a day filled with excitement and camaraderie, the finalists gathered for the announcement of the winners. Beth and Travers, a mother-son duo, were ecstatic to learn they had claimed the top prize. Travers described their victory as “life-changing,” highlighting the impact it would have on their growing family.

Beth shared that Travers and his wife are expecting a second child, and the family had made an agreement that if he won the vehicle, it would be filled with grandchildren for family trips. With the new Patrol Ti-L in hand, Travers plans to take his family on a visit to Beth’s farm, creating new memories together.

This event not only showcased Nissan’s commitment to engaging with its customers but also provided a unique opportunity for families to bond over shared experiences. The excitement surrounding the contest and its outcome reflects Nissan’s strong community presence and dedication to enhancing family adventures.
