Volkswagen Expands ID.4 and ID.5 Electric SUV Range with New Features

Volkswagen has enhanced its electric SUV lineup with the introduction of additional features for the ID.4 and ID.5 models. The new variants, which include the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 Pro, complement the existing ID.4 Pro and flagship ID.5 GTX models that were launched in local showrooms in July 2023. These vehicles are classified as model year 2025.5 (MY25.5) and are designed to meet the growing demand for mid-size electric SUVs.

As part of the MY25.5 enhancements, all ID.4 and ID.5 variants now come equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with massaging front seats. Despite these upgrades, the pricing remains unchanged. Buyers who choose to purchase leftover MY25 stock of the ID.4 Pro and ID.5 GTX will receive a complimentary 7kW home EV charger, including installation by a certified installer, valued at $1,899.

Volkswagen continues to support its ID.4 and ID.5 lineup with an eight-year, 160,000 km battery warranty and Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) through Volkswagen Financial Services, ensuring confidence for potential buyers. The entry-level ID.4 Pro, a single-motor rear-wheel drive model, starts at a price of $59,990 before on-road costs. The more stylish ID.5 Pro is priced at $62,990, representing a $3,000 premium.

Both Pro variants feature a 210 kW electric motor, which allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.7 seconds. The estimated range for these models is between 543-544 km on the WLTP cycle, making them competitive in the growing electric vehicle market.

For those seeking a sportier option, the dual-motor all-wheel drive GTX variants are available at prices of $69,990 for the ID.4 GTX and $72,990 for the ID.5 GTX. These models deliver a total power output of 250 kW and achieve a 0-100 km/h time of 5.4 seconds. However, the range is slightly reduced to 511 km for the ID.4 and 522 km for the ID.5.

For a detailed overview of pricing and specifications for both the ID.4 and ID.5, additional resources are available through reputable automotive platforms. The enhancements to the ID series reflect Volkswagen’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle offerings and meeting the evolving needs of consumers in the electric SUV market.
