Congress Accuses Election Commission of ‘Vote Chori’ in Urgent Campaign

UPDATE: The Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, has intensified its campaign against the Election Commission of India, accusing it of engaging in alleged “vote chori” practices. A new video depicting purported fake voting has been released, featuring Bollywood actors in a professional production that has raised eyebrows over its authenticity.

In a powerful appeal, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge urged citizens to defend their voting rights, stating, “Do not let your rights to vote be snatched away. Ask questions, demand answers this time!” This statement comes as Congress positions “vote chori” as a critical issue ahead of upcoming elections, dubbing it a “do-or-die” matter.

The minute-long video, shared by Gandhi on social media, portrays a family entering a polling booth, only to be told that their votes have already been cast. It concludes with actors casting fake votes while an official gives a thumbs-up, stirring outrage and claims of electoral fraud.

On August 14, Congress plans to launch a series of activities dubbed “Loktantra bachao mashaal marches” to mobilize public support. Rahul Gandhi led a party meeting to strategize this campaign, attended by key figures such as Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Jairam Ramesh. The party is also rolling out a web portal at votechori.in/ecdemand for citizens to demand accountability from the Election Commission.

The urgency of this campaign is amplified by claims of mounting evidence of “vote chori,” with Congress leaders alleging that these fraudulent activities transcend mere theft to become “dacoity.” Rahul Gandhi emphasized the need for unity within the opposition, stating the whole INDIA bloc stands together on this pressing issue.

In a counterstrike, the BJP has vehemently rejected the allegations, asserting that the Gandhi family itself has a history of electoral violations. BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya highlighted past issues concerning Sonia Gandhi‘s voter registration, suggesting that the current allegations are a diversion from their own electoral misdeeds.

As the situation unfolds, all eyes are on the upcoming protests and public engagements scheduled by Congress. The party aims to galvanize support against what they term as systematic disenfranchisement, while the BJP prepares to rebut these claims vigorously.

This developing story is poised to have significant implications for the political landscape as the election cycle heats up, making it crucial for voters to stay informed.
