Emergency Response Times Surge in Wyndham, Urgent Action Needed

UPDATE: Ambulance response times for life-threatening emergencies in Wyndham have surged, according to urgent data from Ambulance Victoria (AV). The latest performance statistics reveal that the average response time to code one incidents rose to 15 minutes and 28 seconds during the June-September 2025 period, marking a significant increase from 15 minutes and 5 seconds just three months prior.

This alarming trend comes as the percentage of code one emergencies responded to in under the benchmark 15 minutes has decreased from 65.6 percent to 64.3 percent. Although this is slightly above the state average of 64.1 percent, the implications for residents are serious, particularly for those facing life-threatening situations such as cardiac arrests or severe trauma.

The data highlights a growing crisis: total incidents responded to have risen from 3,659 in the previous quarter to 3,732 between June and September. This surge in demand is putting increased pressure on ambulance services, which are already grappling with delays and high call volumes.

Jessica McGowan, AV’s metropolitan regional director, acknowledged the challenges facing the network. “Every small improvement, from more efficient handovers to quicker clearing times, adds up to better care for all Victorians,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of addressing these growing demands.

As response times climb, the urgency for improved efficiency in ambulance services becomes more critical. Residents in Wyndham are urged to stay informed about their local emergency response capabilities and the potential impact on their safety.

What’s Next: Authorities are expected to implement strategies aimed at enhancing response times and managing the rising call volumes more effectively. Community members should remain alert for updates on service improvements to ensure timely care during emergencies.

Stay tuned for more updates as this developing situation unfolds. The health and safety of Wyndham residents depend on swift action and improvements in emergency response services.
